Dhalsim
Dhalsim Memory
At my college dorm, I used to play SFII on SNES with the pre-frat guys down the hall. Those days I'd only use Dhalsim. Most of them were pretty good players, but they didn't have much experience playing against Dhalsim, and they'd always mispronounce his name. Later they told me they were given cruel nicknames as part of the hazing humiliation, and the frat boys named one lanky dark-complected dude DHAL-ISM.

French Hi Score
A very nice French Street Fighter website. Contains emulator downloads, Winamp skins, midi files. Tons of stuff! Makes it a bit less easy to hate the French. And they have the history of Street Fighter in French.

Team Street Fighter
"Alana does not really play Street Fighter, but she is my evil twin sister, and somehow managed to sneak into the picture... (Ryu, Sagat, and 'Gief usually play with us down at Putt-Putt, and were kind enough to pose with us. Dhalsim is behind the camera actually, but you can't see him." - Dave Evans

"The figures are not considered G.I.Joe figures, and they should not be confused with their Street Fighter 2 counterparts (which ARE part of the G.I.Joe line). The movie fighters probably should be thought of as close cousins to the G.I.Joe line." - yoejoe.com

"Allow me to introduce myself. I am a nut for powerful computers that do all sorts of neat things. The picture [sic] picture above shows what I like to see and do. The raytraced picture is something that, given a computer and time you can create very stunning graphics. I also like to play video games, which in the realm of arcades the character above is very well known." - Nasty Nick

SFII Smilies
Street Fighter II "Smilies". For displaying in message board posts and signatures. Apparently they are "painted by JDR and edited by Dogglife" and they "cannot be used without AZU's permission". Ask for permission!?

The Original Street Fighter
The punch and kick buttons on the original Street Fighter machine were "special pneumatic controls that were connected directly to the game board via air hoses". Depending on how hard the player slammed on the buttons, the game would register either a low, medium, or high attack. Game play was difficult and the buttons "wore out or would constantly require adjustment due to abuse".

I really hate Street Fighter 2.
"Sometimes I don’t really know what to think of Bison. At first glance, he seems to be nothing more than a Nazi crossing guard. But he supposedly has psychic powers. Right, I almost believe that. Psychic powers my ass. That’s just Capcom’s way of telling us that M. Bison is a cheap ass bastard..." - Z-Man

Japanese Game Centers
Japanese Game Centers
I spent many hours playing SFII when I lived in Japan. It was a unique experience that was more like playing in a casino than in an American arcade. When playing a 2 player video game, your opponet would be on the oposite side of the cabinet and out of plain view. When a game was over it was customary for the loser to walk around the cabinet to see who had shamed him. After a victory, I would never show it in my face, but in my head I was screaming, "YOU HAVE BEEN DEFEATED BY ME! BLANKA! RAAARRRGH!".
