MY NEIGHBOR
TOTORO [BOOTLEGGED POSTER]
Director Hayao Miyazaki presented a plan with confidence, without hesitasion. The plan was a film titled "MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO" which he has kept for 10 years. He has long dreamed of making the film all the while.
The scene was set up in Japanese country at early in the Showa 30's (1955-1964). And the main characters in this film were two little ordinary girls whose age were 10 and 4. The 2 little girls named Satsuki and Mai were full of vitality, and that formed the base of this story. And then as a symbol of time and matters of the past, monsters TOTORO appeared on the stage. the monsters, and yet TOTORO was very charming.
"I didn't make this for only nostalgia." - He told many times. What is the necessity for children in fact? We could keep on having abundance environment in Japan even now? Yes, such place is in somewhere. It's still in existence. - In this film, he gave his earnest glance to "NATURE".
Then, the children as main characters who were set at liberty, freely and unrest randy by art work. Antibody should like to live there for once,or we must take notice of a great loss until now, when we watch fantastic art, background and so on.
By many outstanding staffs' help, his wish became in sight as splended pictures before our eyes.
